Super Bowl Ads

Well, you've asked for it... Actually, nobody asked, but since every other website is running the ads from past games (and the networks really do need that money), here it goes. An easy to use widget from Hulu (yes, the website that's going to kill television in a few months), where you can easily watch all the ads from last year's Big Game. Easy to use if you're living in the United States, that is. It's all about the ads, people, so please watch year-old commercials, and support the poor conglomerates.

April premiere dates

I've been waiting for 'Rescue Me' (FX) return for so long, I probably watched the earlier shows three times in a row. Also, Parks and Recreation (NBC) looks hilarious - Amy Poehler is fantastic. Not gonna miss Krod Mandoon premiere (Comedy Central), as well as Tudors (Showtime), In Treatment (HBO), and Unusuals (ABC). Here's the full list:

Winter premiere dates

Can you smell it in the air? The mid-season premieres are almost here. Some of the new shows, some - returning favourites. Most will be eagerly awaited, as a replacement for the bloated fall barrage of wasted opportunities. Some - will be avoided like the plague - year after year. All - are worth your time - whether you're following these shows religiously, or trying to ignore them to the best of your abilities. Get your VCRs ready - Lost, House, Reaper, Galactica, Rescue Me, Scrubs - are heading back to your living room in the coming weeks.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008)

Kevin Smith is growing up; Traci Lords is a notorious porn legend; and Seth Rogen is goofy but not funny. These are all undeniable facts, and you can bash your head against the wall trying to object to this reality, or pretend it's not there. It won't change the fact that Kevin Smith is growing up; Traci ... you get the idea. This movie has many such FACTS going against it - and many would love to see them different, but it's just not possible. For example, I would love to see a movie where Seth Rogen is truly funny - and despite the best marketing campaigns out there - it just doesn't happen - he remains a goof in every film. Yes, there is a difference, and I should know. I would also love to see Kevin write material that's as fresh and sharp as Clerks and Mall Rats - but it's just not going to happen - been there, done that. It belongs to another decade. So let's all move on from the fact that another time, in another place, this could have been a much different movie. Perhaps funnier, perhaps more poignant. It's not going to happen. Let's enjoy it for what it really is.

Fall premiere dates 2008

Oh, where to begin - Deal or no Deal, right after the olympics (had enough plugs for that show); 'Til Death, premiering right before Sept.11 anniversary - two evil events side by side; or maybe Ugly Betty - coming back on September 25 - for those saps who like sappy shows covered in sappiest sap. Sorry, ran out of synonyms. Anyway, the list is huge, the premieres are already here (get your VCRs/DVRs programmed), here are the premieres for this TV season. Enjoy.

August premiere dates

If you're not too busy following the Beijing Olympics this month (and you better watch the coverage - our Chinese overlords demand you observe them), here's a list of what's premiering this month. Honestly, not the best summer month for starting a show (compared to the 'still in school' June, or 'let's go out instead' July), but nevertheless, plenty of new things you can watch on the tube. Here's the list.
