Emmy nominations 2007
Another award show nominations are out, and another series of disappointment for us. There’s nothing for Leary and his team from Rescue Me, there’s too little for Scrubs/Office/30 Rock/Earl, and there are way too many noms for HBO shows. Obviously, the last episode of Sopranos was nominated. I could have told you that back in 2003, the last hour of that show will be so over-hyped, and over-analyzed, it will have to win awards. On the other hand, could we give 2.5 men it’s 15 minutes for crissake? Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen are not that funny, why is this show even being watched? The power of CBS and their gazillions of viewers? C’mon, in the same year that we had Alec Baldwin, Tracey Morgan and Tina Fay share the screen week after week, we still have to give nods to ‘men, men, men’? Wake up and smell the hacks. I’m rooting for the NBC comedy, FOX drama, Comedy Central late night and cable sci-fi shows. Bring on Colbert, Galactica, Entourage, Maher, Heroes!
