Carla Gugino on Californication

April 15th, 2010 | View Comments | Posted in Television |

Yay! Carla Gugino is back on regular TV (Californication). Her stint a few years back as Karen Sisco didn’t last long (only 9 episodes, not all aired), and the guest spots in Entourage a couple of seasons ago were fantastic, but also short (10 episodes). It’s good to see her back, and this show can give your so much space and freedom to enjoy the role.

She’s a very adaptable actress, can be vulnerable, can be self-sufficient, but she’s especially good at kicking ass (Watchmen, Threshold, Sin City, Spy Kids). She will be a good addition to Californication (Showtime), and her quick wit and comedic timing (if that character is written properly is a perfect match to David Duchovny’s character. I’ve been falling behind in the last season, but now will definitely catch up, and will follow the 4th season just to see a little bit of Carla. Perhaps a little bit more than allowed? Still can’t get over her casual, matter-of-fact topless (or half-nude) dialogues in Sin City and Entourage. Will post clips shortly. You should just buy these DVDs right now.
