CBS 2005-2006 show lineup
CBS might be the big winner this past season, but I can't believe they didn't renew Jason Alexander's "Listen Up". With "Everybody Loves Raymond" gone, its best sitcom is "Two and a Half Men", and that's not saying much. Surprisingly "Yes, Dear" got renewed ... again, so it's obvious to everyone the network is not investing much into the comedy shows. But boy, look at its drama lineup. read more...

FOX 2005-2006 show lineup
Fox network has announced its Fall schedule (sorry for posting it here so late - you must have noticed an updated site and faster performance). The day-to-day lineup is pretty much the same, and the network's tricks are also unchanged: 24, American Idol and Trading Spouses are coming back in the new year (midseason). Which makes perfect sense - holding on to these huge spectacles paid off in later half of this season. One noticable hop is for Arrested Development - to Monday nights. Don't know what it will accomplish, as long as I get my dose of Bluth family week after week. read more...

Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith
It's finally over. The saga is complete, George Lucas will hopefully move on to other projects, FOX studios will start looking for a new franchise to milk (while they're squeezing off the last drops from SW movies), and all of us fans will have to deal with this finale, and move on to other sci-fi worlds. Luckily for us, there are plenty of good sci-fi series and movies around. Unfortunately for Lucas, his last project is exceptional only when it's not compared to its peers. read more...

May 27 - The Longest Yard vs. Madagascar
We're going to resume doing these weekend previews - just because Hollywood refuses to grow up. Let's see, this weekend we have a battle between an Adam Sandler remake, and a Dreamworks animation cash-in. Who will prevail - a loud, angry, in-your-face sports romp The Longest Yard, or cutesy, colourful, mindless animal adventure Madagascar. Well, if you want sports done right, check out Kicking and Screaming, or the original Longest Yard with Burn Reynolds; for animated animals, go to your video store and rent Antz, A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, or even Ice Age. The better alternatives are there, so save your time and money on counless copies and weak imitations. Despite how much these two will rake in. read more...

Finding Neverland (2004)
This small budget film appeared out of nowhere last fall (along with other small films like Million Dollar Baby, Sideways and Hotel Rwanda), captured the hearts of many, and went on to receive countless nominations and awards for writing, costumes, and performances. Well deserved, I must say, especially since the film doesn't try to force strong emotions from you, it just happens to be powerful and simple at the same time. read more...

WB 2005-2006 show schedule
The smaller, but not neessarily less important WB network has announced its fall schedules, and there are no surprises. The big hits stay, maybe on a different night, and new guys are brought in to keep the network somewhat competitive. WB has proved year after year that all you need is one good show, possibly two, and it will keep the viewers, bring in sponsors, and will keep the ship sailing. I don't remember WB's shows being in the top 10 or even top 20 lists, but they are watched, and talked about. read more...

ABC 2005-2006 show lineup
The network that was once known for pulling its weaker shows too early, before they develop legs and audience, is finally sticking with most of its current lineup. Not only that, ABC is also bringing in plenty of new shows - which is a sign of confidence. Or, perhaps it's just stubborness. read more...
