Box Office Previews exorcistwithout paddleAfter last year's success of "Freddy vs. Jason" the trend of August horror mania continues with "Exorcist: The Beginning" (it's a prequel, dummy), and "Without a Paddle", a send-up of "Deliverance". I would have shelled out to see Stellan Skarsgard battle demons, and Seth Green get lost in the woods, except "The Exorcist" had to be re-shot to make it "more gory", at the request of the studio, and Seth has been promoting his movie for about five weeks. Now if it takes five weeks to sell a movie, it won't survive that long in the theaters, so sit this one out, kids. Instead, go rent the original "Exorcist", or "Poltergeist", and as for camping comedy intended to be spooky - I really liked "Cabin Fever", even though it was sold as a horror flick.
